Swedish

A traditional form of massage utilizing long flowing strokes to promote overall health and balance.

While Massage is often considered “pampering,” it has been used throughout history for its healing benefits (5,000 years ago in China & 4,000 years ago in India). Monthly massages have been proven to help prevent illness by boosting the immune system, improving circulation and reducing stress, all of which can also accelerate recovery from injuries. Receiving regular massages also promotes relaxation and mental alertness.

For alleviating more severe injuries massages should start with a few weekly sessions, then spread out to monthly as the body recovers and relearns how to relax.

Raindrop Therapy

The use of Essential Oils to promote mental, emotional and physical well-being.

Essential Oils are applied to the feet and back during massage. This modality is based on a Native American traditions of healing used during the time of the Northern Lights. It utilizes nine oils, each with unique properties, in carefully studied and practiced patterns.

Silver Leaf Massage Therapy uses “Young Living” Essential Oils. The company guarantees quality control from seed to seal. If the oils do not meet the high standards required for therapeutic use, the company will sell out their existing stock rather than compensate with substitutes or fillers.

It is good at any time, but really helps during a change in season, or a change in your life.

Reflexology

Massage of the feet to affect the body.

Modern medical studies show that the feet possess over 4,000 nerve endings, corresponding to different parts of the body, both externally and internally. The practice of foot massage is far older, having been used by the Inca, Native Americans, even depicted on the walls of Egyptian pyramids, and has been a professional form of treatment in China for centuries. Reflexology focuses on promoting the function of internal organs, and can address parts of the body that may be too sensitive to be massaged directly.

One client with long-term organ problems added Reflexology to her health regimen and was later asked by her doctor what she was doing, as organ function had improved significantly.

Craniosacral

The use of light touch to address deep/recurring tension.

CranioSacral can be described as “energy work” as it focuses on rest, relaxation, alignment of the body and the release of tension, whose causes may be emotional as well as physical (in a similar manner to stress). While “cranio” refers to the head and “sacral” to the base of the spine, CranioSacral can be used on the entire body. During a session the client remains fully clothed, lying down while the practitioner works slowly and gently.

After four pregnancies my hip had a habit of rotating too far forward, but with CranioSacral the rotation corrected, making walking much nicer. I also watched a practitioner work miracles with one of my children, who had been in an accident a few years earlier. He could fall asleep during a session, which suited him fine as he was young and fed up with doctors. Afterward he was calmer, gentler and more balanced. His body held on to this balance longer with each session, and we went every two weeks for a couple months, then monthly, then he only needed to go in quarterly.

Hypnosis

Practical Hypnosis helps our clients achieve their own goals. Movies can be misleading about hypnosis, often treating it as a practical joke or as brainwashing. During hypnosis of any kind, people actually do hear everything that is said, be it to them or by them. During hypnosis a different part of the brain is in control, making it easier for the conscious and subconscious mind to communicate, enabling the client to make easier and permanent changes to their habits.

Hypnosis therapy begins with two sessions, each one hour long. The first session initiates major changes, by setting goals and establishing positive habits to achieve those goals. The second session fills out details, such as special circumstances or specific habits that may not have been recalled at the initial session, then reinforces the client’s goals and positive habits so that they become consistent and permanent.
